Continually observes the cardiac rhythm of patients in the assigned unit. Assesses and reports the patients cardiac rhythm and/or life-threatening cardiac event to medical/nursing staff.
HS diploma required. Validation of competency in dysrhythmia recognition by scoring a minimum of 84% on examination required. Prior work experience as a monitor technician or in medically related field strongly preferred. Individuals cross trained as a PCT or EKG technician preferred.
Familiar with windows based programs, keyboard entry and use of a mouse.
